Guarding our Thoughts

Guarding our Thoughts

Have you ever stopped to think about the countless thoughts that cross our minds every day? It’s estimated that we have thousands of thoughts daily, ranging from the mundane to the profound. But here’s the thing: not all thoughts are created equal.
Some people say it’s not about the thoughts we have, but the ones we entertain. I’d like to take it a step further: we need to be intentional about casting down thoughts that don’t align with our values, faith, and goals. Why? Because if we don’t, those thoughts can take root and manifest in our lives in unexpected ways.
We all have spiritual blind spots – areas where we need God’s revelation and guidance. It’s up to us to pay attention to those areas and take action. The truth is, ignoring a problem or a negative thought pattern today can lead to more problems tomorrow.
So, what can we do? We can start by being mindful of our thoughts and declaring what we stand for. We can decree God’s truth over our lives, our families, and our circumstances. It may feel like a discipline at first, but trust me, it’s worth it.

As the Bible says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
The best way to keep our minds at peace is to keep our minds on God. Let’s make a conscious effort to focus on Him, to declare His truth, and to cast down any thoughts that don’t align with His Word.
May God bless you and give you peace as you face the thoughts and challenges of your day.
