The Power of Choices

The Power of Choices

What exactly does choosing God mean?
Growing up as a child, I made the decision to walk down the aisle at the conclusion of each Saturday prayers meeting, prostrating at the altar with tears in my eyes, and asking Jesus for forgiveness and also inviting him into my life as my  personal savior. Sadly, that never worked for me despite my repeated attempts, only to see myself going back to my old ways.
I become weary in recent years of this constant decision-making process that never work for me, weary of stumbling down the aisle every saturday prayer hour while burdened with anxiety and guilt.

Now, when I enter a worship service, I envision myself starting a new chapter in my life, one that is far better than the emotional ups and downs of the past, with a strong desire to choose God.

Choosing God will always be the best decision for believers.
We have two choices in this life: accept or decline. There is no in-between. You are either saved or not; God’s peace is a delicacy known to kings and queens. And who are His kings and queens? Those who have taken the decision of accepting Him as their Lord and Savior, and meant it wholeheartedly.
Knowing what you are means understanding what you are not.
To chill in the cool is to burn in the hot. Choose ye today.

John 6:67-69 “Do you also want to go away?” Jesus asked his disciples because many turn away from him after they were offended by his teachings.

These are bible verses with realistic choices, genuine decisions, and real outcomes.

Will you be a kid, or will you be play? A childlike faith will guide you along the way.
Always remember to pray, and even when you’re upset, be mindful of what you say. You have the life that you speak of. You are the God that you are seeking

The Power of choosing God

As followers of Christ, we should operate  on the knowledge that the Lord has delegated authority to us on earth. As a result, we are accountable on every decision we made here on earth . God simply instructed the believers on how best to operate and be productive on earth. However, the challenge lies in the fact; most believers  refuse to accept the responsibility. If you refuse to be responsible for the instructions given,
you cannot blame him when it fails to produce results in your life. The ability to choose is one of the most precious gifts given to mankind. The devil is the one who coerces you into doing things against your will. God does not compel you.
Deuteronomy 30:19
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing.” Then he said, “I love you so much that I won’t simply ask you to pick and choose like a lucky dip.” I will encourage you to choose life so that you and your household might live. However, the devil will pressure, push, and torment you until you make the wrong decision.

The LORD honors your decision, thus he advises you to voluntarily choose what you enjoy, which is something that many of us dislike.
However, we humans desire God to do all things for us,  he responds, “No, I don’t operate that way.” in Mark 9:23. Jesus stated, “If thou canst believe……,” That gives us a choice-related duty. It is up to you to decide on the report you accept. Is it a report from God or the one your challenges, adversity and surroundings present before you. The decision is always yours to make. Never forget to fulfill your end of the promise.

The Reward of choosing God

There are a lot of benefits to choosing God.
According to Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”
My focus is on the second portion of the text, choosing God will never leaves you feeling empty. When you choose God, there are always benefits involved. When you choose God, you find security, hope , meaning and purpose.
Without God in our lives, the concerns of why we are here cannot be satisfactorily answered. Our main purpose on earth is to seek God  and in doing so; he will give us what is rightfully ours.
What is the purpose of life assuming there is no God? Without anything to live for outside the materials things we see today, life would be hollow and dependent just on luck.
We receive confidence and peace, when we choose God. Whether in terms of safety, wellness, trouble, or anything else, God provides protection to those who seek him. According to Hebrew 13:5-6 “I will never fail you nor forsake you,” and “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?” We become resilient and courageous, even in the  midst of death, once we believe in these promises we witness them in action.

For the believers, God’s power is evident all over the world, and we stand in awe of his creation. These are but a handful of the reasons we choose God. Everything in the world today is meaningless and worthless without God, but when God is present, there is a purpose and hope for the future.
